something to declare
Nov. 9th, 2013 09:12 pmThe Junebug is driving me insane, but I realize that part of the problem is that he is learning the difference between…not sure what to call it. Descriptive and imperative statements? The reason why there are two kinds of declarations that parents make:
1) "C'mon, it's time to go inside."
"No! It NOT time to go inside!"
"Okay. It will be time to go inside in one minute. You can have a minute to finish up."
2) "Blow on that food, it's hot."
"No, it NOT hot."
*laugh* "Yes, actually it is hot, so blow on it."
Some of our statements are negotiable, and some are not, but he doesn't know the difference, so he tries to negotiate EVERYTHING AIEEEEEEE.
