oh crap

Two unrelated firsts:

Today the child tried solids for the first time! (No, not the phase of matter. You dorks.) Well. We gave him a piece of orange bell pepper. He stuck it in his mouth straight away, as that is what you do with Things, and then made the traditional hilarious face of a baby when first confronted with something that has a flavor. Then he dropped it. I'm so looking forward to adventures in food.

Today the child developed Opinions. Up till now, he's been pretty satisfied to play with whatever we put in front of him. Skwish, Agnes the lamb, rattle, wooden spoon, it's all good. But today my mom took away some wrapping paper he was trying to eat and FUCK NO ABUELITA WHAT THE HELL. Drama. Sooo much drama. The easy months are over. D:

suburban life

Took baby for a walk with mom. No sidewalks in mom's suburb of course, so guy in truck yelled at us for walking in the street. Two white kids with a dog greeted us in Spanish, & when I responded in Spanish, yelled "this ain't Mexico!" after us. I told them to go to hell. I want to go home. :(
