ahahaha, I'm not the only one who can't look away from the trainwreck reads DWIL Nation! If it's good for nothing else, it makes me feel better about my relationship with D, because some of those marriages, man.

But gosh I think about this a lot when playing with my adorable baby who, like you say, has a massive crush on me and I do on him, and I love that he's so snuggly! and he goos and coos at me and looks and looks at me... I think about how D loves his parents a lot, but he talks to them maybe once every other week, when they call him or I nag him to do so (it's not that he doesn't want to, but he just forgets he hasn't talked to them in a while), and he has a hard time figuring out what to say even then. That, I think, is gonna be really hard.

(But on the other hand, I'm not gonna miss waking up twice a night to a crying baby. So there's that.)
