these dreams

Things that happened to the Junebug in my dreams last night:

1) Car accident
2) Construction accident in a project I was running
3) Had to have both his hands amputated for medical reasons
4) Raccoons got into the house and bit him

Brain, I realize that we are having some anxiety right now, but cut me a fucking break.

Anxiety dreams where bad things happen to you are bad enough, but it's way worse when there's a kid involved.

Raccoons are fucking terrifying. They have got no call to be invading your dreams that way. Bad enough they invade things like attics.

I've had kid injury/fatality anxiety dreams from time to time. You have my most sincere sympathies, because they SUCK. (And I'm now getting one of the more haunting ones running through my head. :/ )

I want my flying dreams back. Those are awesome, and I haven't had one for months.

For whatever reason, I've had more flying dreams than any other specific dream I can remember. It probably helps (or affects the statistics, at least) that there are apparently fairly specific rules that govern how I fly, and in fact it's often more ground-skimming levitation than flying.

I'm almost always really surprised (and disappointed) when I wake up to find that it wasn't real (again). It seems that I find that sort of locomotion fundamentally plausible (for appropriate values of 'plausible').
