Quick note

CRAAAAAAAAWLING. MOTILE BABY. Doom has come upon us! Adorable, happy doom! Seriously, the very first thing he did? He crawled over to the nail clippers and chewed on them. Time to remove everything from the bottom 30" of the world!

Yaaay! Such cuteness!!!

I remember our xmas tree that first year munchkin could crawl. It was funny looking, all bare on the bottom.

Yaaaaaaaay crawling! Although, less yay, because noooooo nail clippers are not chew toys!

Ahaha, good luck with the childproofing though, and with your newly leveled-up little one. XD

Oh, thirty inches! You are such an adorable optimist! You have yet to learn the terror that is babyclimbing!

One of E.'s first self-induced injuries was crawling into the bottom corner of an open cabinet door.

We were really torn. On the one hand, oh no, she got a scratch!
On the other hand: crawling baby!

We didn't bother with protecting cabinet doors (and you're covered for door locks already, IIRC). We did use corner bumpers on the coffee tables & things, but you don't need to worry about that *quite* yet...

(Hmm, no edit button?)

I will note that crawling up stairs happens *way* earlier than standing up, or even pulling up & cruising. Be warned.

Oh yeah, SteelyKid would go up the stairs literally 20 times a day before she learned to walk.

Woo mobility!

My family doesn't seem to produce a lot of crawlers. Most of us have skipped crawling, going straight to the assisted walking phase (my middle sibling evidently skipped the assisted phase as well. Mom reports she just looked up one day and he'd nearly walked out of the yard). I am quite certain of this because of how much of my (granted, infrequent) babysitting stints have involved me being hunched over, holding a tyke by the hands, for hours at a time.

Congrats on your mobile human! Have you considered putting him to work?
