Ugh, ugh ugh. Poor Junebug is sick again. His very first fever. Mr. E is rocking him and I am in the only room in the house that gets cell phone reception, hoping that the advice nurse calls us back at some point.
It just came on so fast. 1 pm, he was a cheerful happy baby. 2 pm, he was quietish. 3 pm, he was sleepy. 4 pm, he was crying too hard to nurse.
It's been a nice weekend until now.
ETA: Ear infection. Getting the amoxicillin now. :/ Wasn't breastfeeding meant to help with this sort of thing?

When my kid was an infant, I was always most glad to be breastfeeding when she was sick, because there was always the last resort, stick a boob in the mouth trick. It was exhausting doing all that nursing, but better than an inconsolable baby. Of course, then I'd get this huge upswell in milk production just as she was getting better. :/
I hope he's better fast, and that childcare isn't a huge hassle. Hugs.

You can also ask your pediatrician for "otic drops" which are topical painkillers you can drip in his ear canal. It is unpopular at first, but works wonders.
