Once when I was teaching in Japan, one of the other teachers had this conversation with the parent of a baby and a kindergartner, about the baby:

"Oh, she's learned to sit up, huh!"

"Yeah, but that's as far as she's gotten..."

"It's a nice age, isn't it?"

"It is! No talking yet, or running away."
