I'm halfway between you and Palmer's critics about Palmer's poem. For me, part of it is the context of how readily she has stepped into less fraught but equally complex situations in the past with little regard for the impact on anyone else. Part of it is Daphne Gottlieb's response, which I find very powerful.
But of course threats are completely out of line. And when and how did threats become part of everyday discourse anyway?
